Opera Mini A Success in IndiaWhen it comes to Opera mini browser, India is the third biggest market for it. It has been revealed that users of Opera mini in India rose from 390 to 430 in just one year. It shows that the mobile web is quite popular in the country. It is believed that the introduction of 3G in the country has boosted the viewing rate of the web in India.
The Co-founder of Opera software, Jon von Tetzchner said, “The mobile Web in India has evolved as an important place to do business, as the proportion of people going shopping on the mobile shows”. A recent research has showed that the popularity of social networking site ‘Orkut’ is declining in India. Moreover, Indians are using mobile web for the purpose of shopping and to view online classifieds.
India has about 40% users of Opera mini which is a huge number. In the pursuit of gaining more customers the developer of Opera mini - Norwegian company – has released a new version of Opera mini which comes with auto-suggest features for search box.
The updated feature of browsing will be available on both browsers across all platforms like Symbian, Android, iOS and MeeGo devices. Opera mini is perfect for slow connectivity and for the lower end phones which only supports Java.
